Next I will mute everything except for the Electric guitar, and work on that. If yours spikes above -4.0,adjust the Output on the FG-116 lower. My final playback volume seems to be curbed at around the -5.0dB, which is create for the mastering process. I went for the Virtual Mixbuss to deliver some tube warmth, followed by FG-116 to act as a limiter, and rounding off with the FG-Bomber for saturation. Now Slate VMR isn’t really intended for use on the Master Bus, but since we’re focused on the use of VCS plugins, we’re gonna make it work for us. To set up the master bus, click on the Master Bus FX button. 90% of the time though, it is all I need. I usually start out with them, and then add additional pieces of useful plugins afterwards to round off the mix. The Slate Digital products are nothing short of amazing, and are my go-to set of plugins when I perform a mix. When Steven Slate decided to venture out into the world of production plugins, he had a clear vision in mind.
